Here are some quick and simple steps to improve YOUR outlook, increase your positivity, and show up with a better attitude!
There are countless studies, quotes, and books about how our happiness and positivity comes from within. People, material possessions, property, and even our bank accounts cannot bring us happiness.
It is OUR responsibility to cultivate our own positivity.

So… How exactly do we do that?
Folks, our minds are powerful and amazing. If we just tap into the potential of our mind we can create our own positivity. Whatever we choose to spend our energy and time on is what we create.
Read that again. Whatever we CHOOSE to SPEND our own energy and time on is what we CREATE.
Now, let that sit for a minute.
What are you choosing to spend your energy and time on? Where do you let your thoughts wander to? Are you in control of your thoughts, or do you let them go unrestrained?
Be grateful
I know I preach a lot on practicing gratitude, but it is seriously the easiest way to get back on track. When you wake up and intentionally focus on things you are grateful for, you will spend the rest of your day filing away moments that you can mention in your practice later on. Your brain will actively search for and remember moments in which you are grateful for.
You can be as elaborate or as simple as you want with your gratitude practice! Grab a notebook lying around the house and write down FIVE things you are grateful for each morning. Open a new note on your phone, and keep a running list on there. Buy a fancy journal. Do whatever will help you keep your practice going.
Be intentional with your thoughts
Another helpful practice is simply replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. Remember, we are in charge of our thoughts, not the other way around.
Here is a helpful chart below with examples of how to replace negative thoughts with positive ones 👇🏼

Every time you have a negative thought, be intentional and consistent in replacing it with a positive. Instead of I have to go to work, be glad you have a job and think I get to go to work and make money today!
Habits are hard to break. I used to smoke (I know, I know) and I would always smoke in the car. It was super difficult for me to get in the car and not smoke, so I replaced that habit with chewing gum. Instead of smoking in the car, I would chew gum. Just be consistent in replacing your negativity with positivity and eventually your mind will naturally, without effort, wander to being positive.
Write positive affirmations
Writing positive affirmations is a way to claim good things. Write them in the present tense, like “I WILL land that account” or “I AM going to have a great day.” Claiming victory in the present tense will set us up for success, because we will naturally work harder to accomplish our goals.
Believe you deserve good things and you will be more inclined to see the good in your life, no matter how big or small. Writing positive affirmations is a way to own those things.

I love this post!! The “I GET to go to work” is my favorite. I’ll definitely be saying that to myself.
Great post and a wonderful way to think!
This post is aligned with my own thoughts. I am on a quest to raise my vibration. I often cite affirmations but always forget to write them down. Definitely going to start journaling again.
I came to you from Robin’s post! What great and simple ideas! Some I actually used to do and let fall by the wayside! Thanks!!
