Yesterday we touched on the importance of being grateful, but I wanted to share with you how I intentionally start my day (and begin planning the night before).
Mike and I had set lofty goals for this year. And then we never wrote them down. Or made a plan. And here we are in August, and we haven’t achieved a single one.
We went on our last couples trip of the summer this past weekend, and worked on our goals and plans for the rest of the calendar year, and mapped some out for next year as well. And then we wrote them down, using SMART goals.
Do you know what a SMART goal is? It is something that is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based.
One of the things that has always helped me stay on task with my personal life is writing down my goals and planning my day. God bless my Mary Kay days, but they shared some great time management skills that have stuck with me for the past 10 years (I never did get that Cadillac, though).
I had the hardest time finding a planner and journal combination that suited all of my needs, so I just made this printable down below. It has everything I need to focus on my schedule, goals, meal planning, fitness, etc.
If we write out our plan, we are instantly more likely to be successful and accomplish more tasks than if we didn’t map our day. Why wouldn’t you want to put a few extra minutes in to guarantee a more successful start?!
I hope this helps you be more intentional with your day! Remember, it’s a lot easier to accomplish things when you have a plan. Print this out and start being more intentional today! ❤️
My gratitude list for the day:
- Turning this planner into a pdf AND image – whew!
- having the day off to accomplish another blog post, and get things done around the house
- spending my morning with Mike and Oliver – the days where our mornings at home overlap are few and far between!
