Seriously, though…
Loving ourselves needs to become a priority. YOU deserve to come first in your life, because NOTHING would happen if YOU weren’t doing it!
You are amazing. And you should love yourself for how absolutely awesome you are.

YOU deserve the best YOU there is. Period. Not so you can meet others’ needs, but so you can show up for yourself! Enjoy you, friend. This is the only life you’ve got. Use your time wisely and with intention.
Self-love isn’t selfish. It’s a priority to make sure you are the best version of yourself that you can be, and it’s ensuring that you know what you want in life. Self-love and self-care aren’t about pampering. It’s about showing up, being disciplined, knowing what you want, and getting things done ๐๐ผ
Self-love means being confident in who you are, what you like, and what you want. It’s knowing the kind of energy you will – and won’t surround yourself with. It’s knowing you’re worth more than most people are giving you. If you’re showing up with your best self, they better step up as well!
Surround yourself with confident people who unapologetically love themselves. Bring ๐ฏ% and rock it together. Celebrate wins and scrutinize the losses so the same mistakes aren’t repeated, and come back bigger and better than ever.
Ways to practice self-love
If you are not moving your body, feeding your mind, and taking time to care for yourself, then you are not reaching your fullest potential. You are not taking care of yourself, and we need to address that.
Here are some easy tips you can incorporate into your routine to show yourself some necessary self-love!
Move your body
Do you want an instant pick-me-up? Do you want to get those endorphins flowing? MOVE. YOUR. BODY. Physical activity gives you a natural high, as it causes your body to release feel-good hormones.
Get up and move your body, for thirty minutes every day. Get your heart beating, your blood pumping. You will feel better. You will have more energy. You will become more productive. And, when you’re done, you will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment which will further boost your mood!
I mean, take it from Arnold. Working out is like having an orgasm ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Go for a walk on your lunch break. Do yoga or a stretching routine in the morning (or before bed). Invite a friend to an exercise class after work.
Seriously, friends. Activity will make you feel so much better, and as your body gets stronger you will fall even more in love with yourself and all of the things you are accomplishing โค๏ธ
Feed your mind
Read! Every day! Listen to podcasts, books, or inspirational YouTube videos. Increase your brainpower and knowledge. We need to learn every day, or we become stagnant.
Try and read at least once every day. Put down the electronics, turn the tv off, and read. I don’t care if it’s silly or educational, inspirational or not. Just read. Learn something new. Knowledge is power.
My favorite podcasts are Mind Love and Earn Your Happy.
My FAVORITE books that I’ve read recently are:
Seriously, friends. Feed your mind. Learn something new every day. Challenge your beliefs, and add new skills to your toolbox. I hope you grow.
Prioritize yourself
I know I’ve said it, and thousands before me have as well… You can’t pour from an empty cup. If you are drained then you have nothing to give others. Of course, this shouldn’t be our reason for completing self-care – so we can serve others. But we don’t have ANYTHING to offer if our cup is empty. Not at home, not at work, and not within ourselves.
Take care of yourself. Wake up early and put on some makeup if that’s your jam. Through some gel in your hair, and splash some cologne or perfume on.
Get that workout in. Use your favorite shower products after. Eat a healthy breakfast so you don’t feel like garbage. Pay for someone else’s coffee to make their day. Stay in your lane at work. Spend a little extra time cooking one of your favorite meals. Read a book. Journal. Clean your space. Light some candles. Use one of those face masks you’ve been saving for a special occasion. You are special!
Be intentional with your time. Pay attention to your surroundings. Smell the crisp air as you walk outside, feel the wind on your face, enjoy your drinks and your food and pay attention to their unique textures and tastes.
Here is a beautiful list from Huffpost on 50 tangibles ways to practice self-love.
